What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a positive, goal-focused talking therapy combined with relaxing hypnosis. It’s designed to help you focus on solutions, rewiring your brain to think and respond in more helpful ways. We use proven neuroscience techniques to strengthen the pathways that support confident, clear thinking. Hypnosis is a safe, deeply relaxed state where your brain is more receptive to embedding the positive changes.
What can Solution Focused Hypnotherapy help with?
My hypnotherapy sessions can help with:
Improving mental fitness, anxiety, low confidence, panic attacks, stress, sleep problems, unwanted habits and behaviours, anger management, conflict, low mood, menopause, IBS, eating behaviours, obsessive thoughts, fears and phobias, PTSD, chronic pain management, performance (exams, interviews and sports).
Do you work with children and teens?
Yes, as well as adults, I work with teens and children aged 10 + supporting issues such as school and social anxiety, school avoidance, exam stress, sleeping difficulties, emotional awareness, low confidence and low mood.
I have over 20 years’ experience working in education (including college tutor, year six primary school teacher and assistant headteacher) and this supports my work with children.
A parental discovery call is required prior to booking an initial consultation for anyone under the age of 18. Please note, individual hypnotherapy sessions for U18s are child led and are 45-60 minutes in length.

What happens in my initial consultation?
You’ll learn the science behind Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, understand how the process works, discuss your goals, and what success will look like for you. There’s no obligation to continue, but most people book their first session there and then.
What happens in each hypnotherapy session?
Each 50-60 minute session has four parts: What’s been good? Focus on the positives, personalised brain revision, solution-focused talk therapy focusing on your progress and goals, followed by relaxing hypnosis where your brain processes positive change. During the session, you remain completely aware and in control.
How much does it cost?
All client journeys start with an Initial consultation appointment, which s priced at £60.
Following on from an initial consultation, all individual hypnotherapy sessions are priced at £74 ( 50-60 min session). I also offer appointment blocks of 6 x 50-60 min hypnotherapy sessions priced at £396.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone’s different, but many people achieve their goals in 8-12 sessions. Some need fewer, some will need more, progress looks different for everyone and depends on a number of individual factors. We will talk this through fully during your initial consultation so you have a clear understanding of what to expect.
Hypnotherapy is not magic, it takes collaboration, the more engaged you are, both during sessions and in between them, the more benefit you are likely to notice. Meaningful change comes from commitment and active involvement in the process.
To begin with, sessions are usually recommended on a weekly basis. As clients start to feel more settled and notice positive changes, sessions are often spaced out to fortnightly and then further apart as appropriate. Progress will be reviewed regularly.
Are your sessions online?
I offer online sessions via Zoom (across the UK, Europe and UAE) or in-person at my private therapy room in Bury, north Manchester. Both are effective and neither is better than the other. You can also combine both – whatever works best for your schedule.
What is your cancellation policy?
Full payment by card is required at the point of booking to secure your appointment.
I operate a 24 hours cancellation policy. Whilst I appreciate that life happens, if you can no longer attend an appointment, then a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. No reimbursements will be made for any cancellations made with under 24 hours’ notice. If you have made a block booking appointment and cancel within 24 hours’ notice then a session will be deducted from your block booking.
As block booking packages are non-refundable.
What if I’ve tried other therapies before?
Join the club! Most of my clients have tried other approaches. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is different because it’s forward-focused, works quickly, and is based on the latest neuroscience research. We don’t go over and over problems, we focus on solutions. It is a very positive, empowering therapy.
Is hypnosis safe?
Yes, it’s completely safe. You remain fully aware and in control. Hypnosis is simply a deeply relaxed state (like daydreaming) that helps your brain process positive change.
What if I can’t relax or be hypnotised?
Everyone can achieve the relaxed state needed for hypnotherapy. If you can daydream or doom-scroll, you can do hypnosis. I’ll take care of it, all you have to do is sit back and trust the process.
Is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy suitable for everyone?
Hypnotherapy can be very effective for many people, but it isn’t always the right fit for every situation. Some circumstances, such as severe mental health difficulties, (such as psychosis or schizophrenia), acute crises, certain neurological conditions, epilepsy, or heart-related issues, may require medical guidance before starting therapy.
If you’re under the care of a GP, psychiatrist, or other health professional, written consent might be needed, especially where there are medical conditions or recent medication changes. During your initial consultation, we’ll discuss your goals, your situation, and relevant history to decide together whether solution focused hypnotherapy is suitable, and I’ll always guide you toward alternative support if it isn’t.
Do you offer a money back guarantee?
No, I don’t offer a money-back guarantee. Everyone is different, so progress and outcomes can look different too.
Hypnotherapy is a collaborative therapy, which takes client commitment. Some people notice changes quickly, while for others it builds more gradually over time. How much you get out of therapy very much depends on what you want to achieve, how ready you feel, and how involved you are in the process both during and outside of the sessions.
My approach is client-centered, we will always work at a pace that feels right for you. You can be assured that I work with care and professionalism, and we’ll regularly review progress as we go so you feel supported and informed every step of the way.
