FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a positive, goal-focused talking therapy combined with relaxing hypnosis. It’s designed to help you focus on solutions, rewiring your brain to think and respond in more helpful ways. We use proven neuroscience techniques to strengthen the pathways that support confident, clear thinking. Hypnosis is a safe, deeply relaxed state where your brain is more receptive to embedding the positive changes.

What can Solution Focused Hypnotherapy help with?

Feel different. Think differently. Live differently.

I support clients experiencing overwhelm, anxiety, low confidence, panic attacks, stress, sleep problems, unwanted habits and behaviours, anger management, conflict, low mood, menopause, IBS, eating behaviours, obsessive thoughts, fears and phobias, PTSD, chronic pain management, performance (exams, interviews and sports).

How do I know which programme is right for me?

If you are unsure, book a free 30-minute discovery call. We can talk through what you want to change, what you need support with and whether the Foundation Programme or the Deep Change Programme is the better fit.  The aim is to choose the level of support that makes sense for you.

Why don’t you offer individual sessions?

Because meaningful change benefits from continuity. Working in a structured block gives us the space and consistency to understand what you want to change, build momentum and consolidate progress. This process deserves commitment.

Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?

No. You can arrive knowing that something needs to change without having a perfectly defined goal. Session 1 gives us the opportunity to explore where you are now and what you want to be different.

What happens in session 1?

Session 1 includes your initial consultation. We explore what is happening for you, what you would like to change and how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can support you. Your personalised audio recording is also provided.

What happens in each hypnotherapy session?

Each 50-60 minute session includes building on personal strengths and what is working well, personalised brain revision, solution-focused talk therapy focusing on your progress and goals, followed by relaxing hypnosis where your brain processes positive change. During the session, you remain completely aware and in control.

How much does it cost?

The investment for the Foundations Programme (8 sessions) is £720.

The investment for the Deep Change Programme (12 sessions) is £1,080.

How often are sessions?

Sessions are normally held weekly, particularly at the beginning, to create continuity and momentum.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different. I offer 8- and 12-session programmes so that there is enough space for meaningful work. We can discuss which option is most appropriate for you. Progress looks different for everyone and depends on a number of individual factors.

Hypnotherapy is not magic, it takes collaboration, the more engaged you are, both during sessions and in between them, the more benefit you are likely to notice. Meaningful change comes from commitment and active involvement in the process.

What if I feel better before my block is finished?

That is a positive sign. Many clients feel positive changes throughout the programme, some even after their first session. We can use the remaining sessions to consolidate your progress, strengthen new patterns and prepare you to maintain the changes. We are not looking for a quick-fix, we are creating lasting change, this takes time and commitment.

Can I continue after my programme ends?

Yes. Once you have completed your initial block, you can book further individual top-up sessions or another block depending on what you need.

Are your sessions online?

I offer online sessions via Zoom (across the UK, Europe and UAE) or in-person at my private therapy room in Middleton, Manchester M24 1ZE.  Both are effective and neither is better than the other. You can also combine both – whatever works best for your schedule.

What is your cancellation policy?

Full payment by card is required at the point of booking your programme to secure your appointments.

I operate a 24 hours cancellation policy. Whilst I appreciate that life happens, if you can no longer attend an appointment, then a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. No reimbursements will be made for any cancellations made with under  hours’ notice. If you have made a block booking appointment and cancel within 24 hours’ notice then a session will be deducted from your block booking.

As block booking packages are non-refundable.

What if I’ve tried other therapies before?

Join the club! Most of my clients have tried other approaches. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is different because it’s forward-focused, works quickly, and is based on the latest neuroscience research. We don’t go over and over problems, we focus on solutions. It is a very positive, empowering therapy.

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes, it’s completely safe. You remain fully aware and in control. Hypnosis is simply a deeply relaxed state (like daydreaming) that helps your brain process positive change.

What if I can’t relax or be hypnotised?

Everyone can achieve the relaxed state needed for hypnotherapy. If you can daydream or doom-scroll, you can do hypnosis. I’ll take care of it, all you have to do is sit back and trust the process.

Is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy suitable for everyone?

Hypnotherapy can be very effective for many people, but it isn’t always the right fit for every situation. Some circumstances, such as severe mental health difficulties, (such as psychosis or schizophrenia), acute crises, certain neurological conditions, epilepsy, or heart-related issues, may require medical guidance before starting therapy.

If you’re under the care of a GP, psychiatrist, or other health professional, written consent might be needed, especially where there are medical conditions or recent medication changes. During your initial consultation, we’ll discuss your goals, your situation, and relevant history to decide together whether solution focused hypnotherapy is suitable, and I’ll always guide you toward alternative support if it isn’t.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?

No, I don’t offer a money-back guarantee. Everyone is different, so progress and outcomes can look different too.

Hypnotherapy is a collaborative therapy, which takes client commitment. Some people notice changes quickly, while for others it builds more gradually over time. How much you get out of therapy very much depends on what you want to achieve, how ready you feel, and how involved you are in the process both during and outside of the sessions.

My approach is client-centered, we will always work at a pace that feels right for you. You can be assured that I work with care and professionalism, and we’ll regularly review progress as we go so you feel supported and informed every step of the way.
